
On 18 January, new agreements on economic cooperation between Lithuania and Taiwan were announced, including a contract between the Lithuanian Teltonika IoT Group and Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) on the transfer of semiconductor chip technology, new investment and export permits.

Fifteen representatives of the Lithuania's food and beverage industry were presented at the national stand during the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition (ADIFE) in the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is taking place for the first time on 6-8 December at the initiative of the Embassy of Lithuania.

On 10 November, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis met with members of the Executive Board of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) during his working visit to Berlin.
On 7 November, new achievements of economic cooperation between Lithuania and Taiwan were announced. Lithuania's high-tech enterprise Teltonika agreed with the Taiwanese Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) on the development of the semiconductor industry in Lithuania, while Taiwan's national-level investment firm Taiwania Capital approved the investment in the production of optical devices. In the near future, Lithuanian milk, fish and egg products will be authorised to export to Taiwan. It is likely that the export of Lithuanian beef will also be granted this year.

More and more markets open for Lithuanian agricultural and food products. This week, Lithuania received an official authorisation to export wheat to Mexico, which is home to 128 million people.

There are reasons to be optimistic about Lithuania’s trade data for the first half of 2022. The Government’s goal of diversifying export markets has not only proved successful but is also gaining momentum.

On 21-23 June, the American-Lithuanian Business Council (ALBC) hosted its 8th annual business mission to Vilnius and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis held a meeting with the ALBC delegation.

On 6-7 June, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis, together with Lithuanian business representatives, is paying a working visit to Japan. The aim of the visit is to deepen political dialogue and bilateral economic relations.
