On 17 April, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gabrielius Landsbergis, met with the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan. The meeting focused on Armenia’s aspirations to continue rapprochement with the European Union, diversify foreign policies, ensure sustainable peace in the South Caucasus region, and the importance of supporting Ukraine.

Landsbergis confirmed Lithuania’s support for deepening Armenia’s partnership with the European Union and a commitment to pursuing a comprehensive reform agenda based on democracy, transparency and the rule of law.

“Democracy is an important security guarantor. Together with EU member states and the US, we support Armenia in the fight for democracy, freedom and peace, which are prerequisites for building a prosperous future for your country,” Landsbergis said.
