On 20 March in Brussels, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis is attending the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Council to discuss Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, Tunisia and Iran and the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

On 14 March in Georgetown, the capital city of Guyana, the Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the United Nations, Ambassador of Lithuania Rytis Paulauskas presented his letters of credence to the Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Carla Barnett.

On 10 March, at the invitation of the United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis participated remotely in a meeting of the Group of Seven and other like-minded organisations (G7 +), which renewed their pledge to support Ukraine’s energy sector.

On 28 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis welcomed the opening of the OECD-Ukraine Liaison office in Kyiv. The office was set up on the initiative of Lithuania and Poland.

On 24 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis attended the OSCE Permanent Council's extraordinary meeting, strongly condemned Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine, and expressed full support for and solidarity with Ukraine.

On 27 February, the 52nd session of the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council will start its work and will be the longest in the Council’s history, lasting until 4 April. Lithuania will participate in its work as a member of the Human Rights Council.

At a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Baltic states and Poland in Riga on Tuesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis said that deeper cooperation among the countries was creating a new security architecture in the eastern flank.

On 27 January, the Dispute Settlement Body of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) agreed to adjudication by a panel over China’s illegal economic restrictions on trade with Lithuania and the European Union at the request of the EU. Establishing a panel is the second step in the WTO’s dispute settlement process, which includes an assessment by three independent experts in trade law to determine whether the measures taken by a WTO member conform with the WTO law.

On 16 December, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Dr. Mantas Adomėnas met with the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the right to privacy, Dr. Ana Brian Nougrères. During the meeting, the Special Rapporteur presented the objectives of her visit, informed which institutions and non-governmental organizations she met with, and expressed her initial observations about Lithuania’s personal data protection system.

Today, on 8 December, Gabrielius Landsbergis, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, addressed the OSCE Permanent Council on the ongoing Russian military aggression against Ukraine.

On 5-10 December, the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court holds its twenty-first session in The Hague, the Netherlands.

On 5 December, Lithuania’s Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Jonas Survila met with the U.S. Department of State Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues Ellen Germain. The meeting focused on Holocaust education, the fight against anti-Semitism, and the perpetuation of the memory of the Holocaust.

We, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and Ukraine, strongly condemn the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine that has caused enormous suffering to the Ukrainian people. It has also undermined security and stability in Europe and represents a serious attack on our rules based international order.
