Baltic Investors Forum of the global economy and prospects.

Baltic Investors Forum this year will take place on October 25-26th. It is dedicated to the international business development and investment environment improvement. The Forum will provide new insights into the measures and decisions to deal with the economic crisis. It is a unique opportunity for debates and discussions about the world economy and financial markets.

The main statement will be presented by Dr. Nouriel Roubini, one of the few global economists who has provisioned the 2008-2009 crisis. Dr. N. Roubini worked for the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, as well as advisor to USA President Bill Clinton. He will present his point of view on the world and the economic future to the participants and guests of the Forum. We also will hear the opinions of Mr. Mark Allen, Senior Regional Representative of the International Monetary Fund of Central and Eastern Europe and Mr. Lars Christensen, the Chief Economist at Danske Bank. The discussion will be moderated by Ms. Vendeline Von Bredow, the Deputy Editor of the international magazine The Economist.

The highlight speaker of the second day is Mr. Richard C. Koo, the Chief Economist of Nomura Research Institute. In the Forum we will hear his unique approach to the economic recession causes. Richard C. Koo believes that Europe is facing a rare type of recession that is driven by private sector debt minimization, when the private sector is minimizing debt instead of maximizing profits.

"We are honoured that the best-known world-class global economic analysts who shocked the whole world by their own insights, while making a huge impact on the economy will attend Baltic Investors Forum," - says Ms. Rūta Skyrienė, Executive Director of the organizers of the Forum, association of the largest investors in Lithuania “Investors' Forum”. According to her, the Baltic Investors Forum is expecting more than 300 business representatives from the European Union and Scandinavia. A lot of attention will be dedicated to the telecommunication trends and infrastructural mega-projects in energy, transport and logistics – we will hear these sector analyses and the exceptional role of the Baltic region.

Mr. Rolandas Valiūnas, Chairman of the Investors' Forum and Managing Partner at LAWIN law firm, said that the forum is expected to have lively debates not only about the challenges facing the economy, but also about what should be done in order to ensure that there will never be another global economic crisis. "The euro zone debt crisis is ongoing and there is still no relief for the Baltic economy; increasingly we hear predictions of a second recession. The forum participants are expected to have specific discussions about what world governments, businesses and the financial sector should do to return to growth. I also think that we need to be brave enough not only to debate on the issues, which caused the recession, but also to agree on the necessary measures to ensure balanced sustainable economic growth " - said Mr. Rolandas Valiūnas.
Baltic Investors Forum program will be enriched by the discussion of the Single European Market (celebrating 20 years anniversary) together with Ms. Emer Daly, Director, Directorate B – Governance of the Single Market, Directorate General of Internal Market and Services. Along with the speeches there will be also other parallel sessions. Foreign and Lithuanian experts will discuss development of the Baltic region, its’ talent pool and attractiveness for foreign direct and portfolio investments, the trends and opportunities for service centres.

The unique program to the Baltic Investors Forum participants will demonstrate Ph. D. Patrick Furu. The world was captivated by his sustainable leadership and Jazz strategy.

In addition to the famous foreign guest lectures and workshops in two-day event, there will also take place a business exhibition - contact fair, numerous business meetings and a partnerships evening.

"While organizing a top-level international event we create a platform for Baltic companies that seek international development and investment, seriously think about their business strategy, who are also interested in economic forecasts and are ready to challenges", - said R. Skyrienė.
