FOREIGN INVESTORS CONFIDENTLY TURN TOWARDS FURTHER EXPANSION IN LITHUANIA

During the first half of 2011 foreign business entities decided on launching 30 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in Lithuania, which represents a 58 percent rise over the respective result last year (19). After the accomplishment of the projects commenced in 2010 and in the first half of 2011, Lithuania will have attracted a total of EUR 1.70 billion.

According to Rimantas Zylius, Lithuania’s minister of economy, the growing FDI figures show that foreign investors already in operation have been further strengthening their business presence, as well as incoming new investors demonstrate confidence in Lithuania’s investment climate.
