Lithuanian Passport and ID card
Every applicant needs to schedule an appointment at the Consulate General for the renewal or the issuance of a passport of the Republic of and/or ID card. Everyone over 2-years-old must be present.
The renewing or the issuance of passport or ID card usually takes 4-6 weeks.
The list of requirements for the renewal of an old Lithuanian passport:
- Old Lithuanian passport or ID card (in case it is lost/stolen, the notification is filled and signed at the Consulate General). In case of children under 16-years-old, parent must also attend and present a valid passport or ID card;
- For children under 2-years-old please bring 2 photos, similar to U.S. passport-size, detailed requirements. Photos of persons over 2-years-old will be taken at the Consulate General;
- Consular fee, payable only in debit/credit card;
- We will be able to mail your new passport or an ID card upon a request, using USPS services for an additional fee.
The list of requirements for the issuance of the first Lithuanian passport (after reinstatement of Lithuanian citizenship):
- Valid U.S. (or other) passport. In case of children under 18, parent must also attend and present a passport or ID card;
- Documents, proving reinstatement of Lithuanian citizenship (if available). Applications for the first Lithuanian passport can be submitted only after the decision to reinstate Lithuanian citizenship;
- For children under 2-years-old please bring 2 photos, similar to U.S. passport-size, detailed requirements. Photos of persons over 2-years-old will be taken at the Consulate General;
