When a document is required for return to Lithuania or another state where a citizen of the Republic of Lithuania permanently resides, a emergency travel document or a temporary passport will be issued, respectively, in accordance with the relevant legal acts.
At the request of a citizen of the Republic of Lithuania who is in the United States and who does not plan to return to Lithuania, a consular certificate confirming his or her citizenship, other personal data and his or her right to a passport or identity card of the Republic of Lithuania may be issued.
