Our distinguished guests will touch on some of the key events that unfolded, both here in the New York and in Vilnius, which ultimately led to the restoration of our independence in 1990.
The Chairman of Sajūdis (the Lithuanian Renaissance Movement and the Supreme Parliamentary Council-Seimas), Prof. Vytautas LANDSBERGIS, and the Consul General of Lithuania in New York, Amb. Vaclovas SALKAUSKAS, will also be joining us to greet all participants and issue their congratulatory remarks.
The Lithuanian American community has played a crucial role in furthering the cause of Lithuanian independence and augmenting its international recognition.
The Lithuanian-American community marks a special milestone this year commemorating the 70th anniversary of its establishment.
